Principal's Message
My name is Darrell Pechtl and I am the Principal of Sam Webb High School. Sam Webb is the "continuation" high school for the Holtville Unified School District in Holtville, California. We are excited for the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year. This year opens with our new website, and new challenges and opportunities as we continue to look at how we schedule instruction and design our curriculum to meet our students needs.
As a "continuation" or "alternative" high school, our mission is to provide individually tailored learning opportunities for our students in a non-traditional classroom setting. Our structure incorporates individual learning activities with direct instruction in core subjects. We also offer opportunities for Independent Learning, enabling qualifying students to complete their High School Diploma while taking care of their other responsibilities.
Every student can learn, and at Sam Webb High School we are firmly committed to the mission of helping our students find their way through.
Ex Scientia Vita, our motto, means, "From Knowledge, Life" and it sums up our vision for all of our students.
